FAQs
Our primary goal is to catch Blue Crabs! The vessel will depart the marina and take a short cruise to the crabbings grounds. Once there, the crew members will give everyone a short lesson on how to crab! We may stop at a few different spots for crabbing.
The trip is approximately 2hrs long. We have drinks for sale on board. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. We do recommend using the restrooms at the marina offices prior to boarding the vessel. We also recommend bringing sun block.
Yes, anyone can crab…..young and old alike. Crabbing is simple and very rewarding. In general, it is much easier than fishing. This keeps the kids attention and let’s faces it, if the kids are having fun, the parents are having fun! Children will have their own kid rods to catch crabs. We give a free t-shirt to whichever kid catches the most crabs. Adults also enjoy crabbing, this is not just an activity for kids!
We operated a US Coast Guard inspected 28’ Carolina Skiff. It Is very stable and has plenty of room. The vessel is inspected for 12 passengers however we try to limit the trips to 10 passengers for extra comfort. The inland bays are mostly protected areas, so it is very uncommon for a passenger to get sea sick. The boat is equipped with multiple railings for comfort and conveniences.
We only employ US Coast Guard certified captains. Our captains also have years of local knowledge in the inland bays. Our crew members are experienced with fishing, crabbing and providing a fun, family friendly atmosphere.
In order to preserve both the crab population and the commercial fisheries in the Inland Bays, we must limit the number of crabs that are able to be taken home while crabbing with Crab Claw Adventures. We only keep male crabs and they must measure 5" point to point on their shell. We have a limit of two crabs per customer. We also ask that you only keep crabs if you intend on eating them. It will be the responsibility of the customer to provide a suitable cooler to take the keeper crabs home.
We provide all bait gear and fishing license. We’ll teach you everything you need to know about crabbing. We recommend bringing sun block! We always have extra onboard in case you forget. We also ask that you bring a smile and the willingness to learn an Eastern Shore tradition!
$300 for the entire boat (10 people)
